Thanks for calling us. We appreciate your call. Please hold on until the next available representative is available. Please don't hang up. It's quite repetitive & more annoying with the background opera music.

Saves them money. Wastes our time.

It is the worst! But I have something really fun when they do pick up and a person is on the line! Tell them that you are busy but if they can just give you THEIR home phone number so YOU can call them back and when they say that is not allowed, tell them "don't like getting annoying calls on your home phone, do you?" and then hang up! It is so so so much fun because they have no idea what to say to you!

Yup, can't stand it.
I have a speaker phone, so I just turn on the speaker and go about and do something else till a real human comes on line.

Half the time I leave the speaker on when the human comes on the line 'cause talking on a speaker phone is annoying too - it's my pay back to them lol

I think its BS too. Heres what I do... I tape record the saying then when the representative picks up I play that recording and see how long it takes for them to hang up. I only do that when im bored but funny either way.

Yes, I find it very annoying. If my call was truly important to them they'd hire enough people to answer the phone and not have endless stupid menus you have to go through before you can actually speak to a real human.

I put the phone on speaker phone, put it under a pillow and get on with my buisness. Saying hello is louder than the music and reaches out from the cotton.

I hate it too. Why don't they just tell the truth---- "we are too cheap to pay enough employees to help you, so hold on until one of our few, underpaid employees can get to you."
