Is the ajustment made in the rear brakes or in the counsel at the parking brake lever .

Check again on the self-adjusting claim.
Lots of cars with four wheel disc brakes have a smaller drum brake inside the rear disk rotors.
Backing up with your foot on the brake should adjust them, but go ahead to see if the look of the rear rotors might accommodate an internal drum for the E- brake.

A dealer parts dept., or an auto supply store clerk can answer your question accurately if you are unfamiliar with what I'm talking about.
