East
1. Detroit
2. Toronto
3. Chicago
4. Miami
5. New Jersey
6. Orlando
7. Cleveland
8. Washington

Similar to last years standings, I like Toronto moving up with the best depth in the NBA, and there young team all a year older means nothing but improvment, Bosh will have another amazing season. Also I like Orlando moving up with Dwight Howard devolping his offense and finally getting help from Lewis, and of course, Detroit is going to stay up top in the conference, no doubt.

West

1. Phoenix
2. Utah
3. San Antonio
4. Dallas
5. Golden State
6. Denver
7. Houston
8. New Orleans

Kobe is unhappy in LA, and I think he's going to move, and be upset that his team is crap again, minus Odom. Golden State is going to move up because they are very solid at every position, and Davis has shown he can step up. I like New Orleans sneaking into the playoffs because they do have a fairly solid team whos best players did not play their best last year, I think they have a very solid chance of making the playoffs. And the Suns taking #1, I like the addition of Grant Hill, I also think Nash is going to go all out this year, through his bad back because he's running out of time and he's a trooper. Having Amare healthy will certainly help and I just feel it's there year.

if the bulls will get pau gasol, they will be on top of the eastern conference, also if the nets pull off the jermaine oneal richrad jefferson deal they will be serious contenders too. i also see cleveland and miami on the upper bracket of the playoffs.. i think pistons will drop off from an elite team to a lower seed team. also throw washington milwaukee charlotte and magic ino the miw.. but my darkhorse?? charlotte bobcats..

moving out west, phoenix will be on top their playoff heartbreaks will make them so much better. plus they added another veteran in grant hill. dallas spurs rockets jazz denver will still be there.. portland i think will make some noise and give sonics two to three years for them to be a playoff team.

Just look at these answers. Jeremy has the Mavs in 2nd AND 4th place. The rest of you putting the Spurs in 2nd or 3rd...And (F)akers must be in serious burrito withdrawal--he didn't even put them on the list. At least Ryan knows what's up.
Dream on, kiddies. We all know who the team to beat will be. And the rest just don't matter.
