I grew up a stone's throw from a castle ruin. Me and my friends would play knights, I was the damsel to be saved from the dragon, or the witch who was hunted down and taken to be burnt at the stake. Sometimes I was a knight, too. We made our own lances and swords from wood and had cardboard helmets.

Pretend. We had several regular 'pretends'. One was private investigator, another was school - other times we'd play fairies in the garden. We made a really intricate bush fort in the woods in which we'd reenact everything from the 'Three Bears' to the story of Evangeline and Gabriel. Playing pretend was the best game going.
EDIT: (LOL) Oops... you mean an ORGANISED game! Sorry. I loved Kick the Can and for indoors, Sardines.

Goodness! so many! growing up for me was not spending a lot of time in front of the T.V. - I was a very active child- so I got easily bored by televison.
I would love playing Hide & Seek, Ring around the Rosie, playing soccer with my cousins :), Simon Says, Tag, hopschocht, jumping rope, etc, etc. etc :) (and many more but I don't recall the names)
