y -ntercept is (0,-4)
There are 4 x-intercepts. They occur:
between x = -1.4 and x= -1.1,
between x = .31 and x = .95,
between x = 1.38 and x = 1.59,
and between x=2.87 and x = 3
You can use Newton's method to get solutions as accurately as you want.

The curve has two local minimums and and one local max.
The minimums are approximately -8 and occur at approximately x=-.53 and x = 2.04.
The max is approximately 2 and occurs approximately at x=1

The curve is concaveup, then concave down, then concave up.
