I am 13 years old and I live in Cyprus. My dream is to be an actor. I am really good at acting! The problem is Cyprus. As I told you my dream is to be an actor but not here in my country. In the USA. Today there was the ONLY audition for a movie in Hollywood herr I though if I pass I would continue my career in Hollywood! However, when I finished the audition I hear from the woman "Thank You" Just that! I acted that everything was OK. I was kinda shocked for a few seconds. Then I say: "Thank You" and I left. All the day I was acting that everything was OK but from the moment I heard the woman seying just "Thank You" at once all my dreams crashed..I mean that was the only way to get into Hollywood and I LOST IT! From 100 people I lost the role! Yeah, about 100 people auditioned. But, I am so crashed. i feel like I will never be an actor! And acting and music are my only interests in the world! How can I pass this and how will I become an actor under these situations? :'(

Does your community have a local theater group? If so try to become a member of that and try out for the local plays. The more you perform on stage locally the more your name becomes known. Plus this gives you the experience that most talent scouts are looking for. The age old saying of Practice Makes Perfect is very true. If you get turned down from one role, try another, learn from your mistakes and use them to improve yourself next time. Good luck!

Okay, sweetie. If that was the only audition you've ever done; and you've never been in any other shows or anything; you don't know if that's you're only interest if you've never done it! It sounds like all you want is fame. And I bet in some big city in Cyprus, there is an acting class or theater. Search online for community theaters! If you've checked everywhere you possibly could; and you're dead serious about acting; if your parents allow you, or if you're old enough, move to California or New York (USA). Their both the biggest states for acting, New York is the biggest state for theater, and California is the biggest state for film. If you can't under any circumstances; no matter how old you are; move to America, for now you could always ask to start a drama club at school and put on a production annually. Also, famous actors/actresses have probably gone though 100's of auditions without making any of them. And considering you have zero experience; maybe that's why you didn't get accepted. Good luck!

Keep trying and never give up. All actors audition (and are turned down) for roles. ALL. Kevin Costner, Christopher Lee, Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman. All. Learning to deal with rejection and not passing an audition for whatever reason is part of an actor's life. Realize this and move on.

Ask the woman what she thought of you. Was it your acting skills that were problematic? Or were you just not right for the part? Find out and target your next audition instead of being haphazard about it. Find a role you want to play, study for it, go after it. Focus. You will make it.

If you really want to.

don't take rejection personally. just becuase they choose you for the role doesn't mean you aren't a good actor. i auditioned for It's a Wonderful Life a while ago and didn't get in. for a while i was devistated and thought i would never get into acting and then i realized if every succesfull actor now had quit after their first rejection, there would proabably be about three or four actors in the world.
you have to keep trying. audition for local plays. start small and work your way up to hollywood. get as much expeiriance as you can so when there is another audition, you're ready.

Umm.. get used to it. That's how they end the audition. If you know 100 people also auditioned then you knew your odds. If you are serious about being an actor you need to get used to rejection really quick because on average, if you go to 100 auditions and get 1 call back, that's beating the odds. Grow a thicker skin and get used to it, if this is how you're going to be after every audition it's never going to work out. You can't treat every audition like your life depends on it because the panel can see that in a second and they generally don't like desperate actors. It makes them uncomfortable.

Get used to rejection because you'll be facing a lot more of that then anything else.

The best way to get a part in an audition is to have a decent resume. If you don't have a resume, then they base your whole audition on the 30 seconds you spend singing or acting or whatever. If you have a resume, they only base part of their desicion on the actual 30 seconds. If you can do local theatre, and build a resume that shows you have experience, you will have a much better chance.

They would choose somebody who fit the description (of tha part) who has a pretty decent resume, over somebody who was better then they expected, but has no resume.

(unless they really like that other guy)

but the key is to start small, and build a resume. and the best way to get over it, is to start preparing for your next audition, even if you dont know what it will be for or when it will be.

and also... your only 13... I'm 15, and i've been acting for 8 years. I STILL do local theatre, and thanks to that, I have built up such a resume, that I am appearing in the Fall film, "August Rush" with Robin Williams

Different casting directors look for different things. You may be an amazing actor, but sometimes they want more, or they're looking for something different. Sometimes they look for kids that have fun as they act, or that are funny. Maybe the part was for a person with brown hair. Nobody can do anything. But next time, perhaps you can ask if they have any suggestions for your what to do in the future. I am an actress, but right now I have only been doing stage. I tried out to be on a new Disney show, and believe me, I would LOVE to be on Disney Channel. But nothing happened to me either. Keep in mind, there are millions of kids in the world, you may be a fantastic actor, but maybe some have more experience. You never know what they're looking for. Just keep trying.

Aww, I'm sorry about that. But as a future actor, you have to learn that youwont get into every audition no mater how much you cry about it. And with out any experience, you probably wont get into hollywood right away. Do all the acting you can, build up your reseme. Don't worry, your dream is your goal and the more you work at it the more chances you'll have to continue with this goal! Break a Leg

i comprehend that they had a hand in generating Bucky Covington's new song. I forgot the call of the song (a different international?), in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it incredibly is stable and on it incredibly is way up the charts (i think of it already hit stunning 10). I omit Sawyer Brown, they sang a pair of my well known unhappy songs (coronary heart, do no longer fall now and that i comprehend this night won't final invariably.)

Don't worry, many actors in the USA have felt the same defeat.
