If you leave cd's in your car can they melt from the sunlight?

Many things can damage your Cd's Direct heat and cold / UV light / Humidity / Salt Water atmospheres / FUNGUS ! / flexing / Scratches / Warping... ETC. To give you a specific temp would not be fair to you because that would not factor in UV LIGHT Humidity and other factors. In short all aspects of exposure have to fall across a curve. this is the CD-R specification:

If your car's inside temperature is below 70 °C, the CD's should be OK. This is the maximum temperature.

But do not leave CD's there for too long in a too hot summer day.

They might not melt per se, but the plastic and the data can warp and become unplayable.

no they won`t melt but they will warp and be usless
