Why did Bush allow an election outcome to determine Rumsfeld's position?

Because he loved Rumsfeld and he barely noticed the troops. They were just a means to an end. And don't kid yourself.. Rummie is still there in the background.. he has not gone far. Bush can pretend he is gone.. but Rumsfeld as well as Cheney are still pulling the puppet presidents strings. Why do you think they chose him to be their leader.. he is pliable, and just liked enough to get elected.. and just stupid enough to believe whatever they tell him. This administration runs deep.. very deep.. almost to Hell!

Well I don't know why you assume that Bush cares about the troops, you've just proved the opposite, in your own words! So you must know, deep down, that he is an evil man.. he could care less about all the knocks on doors that these poor mothers are getting daily.. as long as his and his friends' pockets are being lined, he'll stay on vacation at his ranch with a big 'ol koolaid smile!! And anyone who doesn't see this clearly is either ignorant or brainwashed.

Because Republicans lost in November '06 not because the respective Republican senators were unpopular, but because people are unhappy with Iraq and the way the Secretary of Defense was grossly mismanaging the war. Bush doesn't care about the troops as much as he cares about votes for his party,,bottom line.

I find it very hard to put forth an argument that proves bush cares about the troops.

Looks like any headline you look at has 'Rumsfeld resigns' , not 'Bush fired Rumsfeld'.

Actually I have never heard anyone accuse him of caring about the troops so I'm not sure how to respond to that one. I really think he is innocent of that charge.
