How does smoking marijuana make someone any less "worthwhile" than anyone else? Are you including those who use it for medicinal purposes? Do you think that anyone who uses any drug is not a worthwhile human being? What about prescription medication? What about caffeine? All types of people use marijuana, from dropouts, to presidents, lawyers, etc. In some place, marijuana usage is positively correlated with education and being successful--as one increases, so does the other. Perhaps you should stop and think a little?

I disagree with your estimation that there is any person who isn't a worth while human being. I believe we must all be worthwhile to God at least, He sent His Son, to redeem us. That is all who would believe He is who He says He is. That's pretty darn worth while.

Now for the "addiction" question. I fall into the camp that says "Pot is addictive" and the habitual use of it is destructive. (I myself did it rarely and quit altogether some 26 yrs ago. In my early 20's) The nature of addiction is that a person
A. Can not readily see their addiction
B. Can not readily quit without a great deal of help... and it is always, always, always a multifaceted approach with spirituality and God's intervention being the most successful approach
C. Inevitably will make a mess of their life, and the lives of others before they have come to the point of acknowledging the place to which they have come.

Just because someone is capable of quitting a substance like that does not make them a worthwhile human being. One does not lead to the other.

you're right it's not addictive but since i only do it when i'm out with my friends i feel no driving urge to quit. i find it quite relaxing to sit and have a session with my friends once in awhile. those who say they're addicted to pot just lack the will-power to live their own lives and use it as a crutch and i would really suggest you try to learn something about the subject before you fire off about it, when people talk about something they know nothing about it tends to make them look rather stupid and we can't have that can we?

I don't use it, buy my sister says even though it is not physically addictive, it is mentally and socially addictive. She "feels" so much better at parties when it is being used.

I don't go to parties like that, but that's what she tells me.

Supposedly it isn't addictive, but my pothead co worker swears it is addictive.
