Does it make you stupid if you can't realize that the world would be a more dangerous place if the people who strapped bombs to their chests to kill others, controlled the government who controlled the oil riches of Iraq? Or would that just make you naive?
-----
Can anyone explain to me how the security of a stable government in Iraq is not in the interest of not only our national security, but that of the world?

The people that will control the government are not the same people who strapped bombs to their chests to kill others.
The suicide bomber is a military tactic to achieve an end, it is not the manner a government, any government deals with its problems.
The security of a stable government in Iraq is in the interest of not only our national security, but that of the world, but having 160,000 American soldiers occupying that country is not the way to achieve it.
"dependence on oil is not going to go away overnight".
We buy oil produced in Iran and Venezuela who are probably less friendly to us that any future government of Iraq.

Does it make you stupid if all other nations on Earth simply stopped being so dependent on cheap, easily-accessible foreign OIL and made a choice to use save energy, use alternative natural resources, and let those crazies with bombs strapped to their chests fight amongst themselves like they've done for the past 1,400 years?? We don't care if Iraq ever has a stable government....all we care about is ensuring that America sucks every drop of OIL out of its sands. That's why Halliburton is building fourteen (yes -14) permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq....we will be there to protect "our" interests: OIL. -RKO- 07/07/07

No it doesn't make you stupid. After all of the anti-Western civilization stuff that has been going on in the mid-east for decades, I find it important to try something new in that area. Trying to set up a stable, democratic government of some sort in Iraq is really important. To be able to have a somewhat sane government in the midst of Islamofascist madness would be wonderful.

"a image is worth one thousand words" And a image isn't the comparable as being there; the standards of interest, smells, sounds, assembly and speaking with human beings; seeing and getting to understand the region first hand up close and in guy or woman. no longer calling names or asserting everyone's stupid how each and every human beings reads is familiar with and translates comments relies upon on the guy. There are as many differing evaluations and translations as there are existence reviews. occasion, Obama claimed that his growing to be up in another country (an prolonged time 4-10) supplies him an understand-how of alternative lands and individuals, giving him an side in remote places family. i think of existence reviews rely. there's a distinction between watching CNN, examining "The Economist", sitting on a Senate listening to, and strolling and speaking between the individuals. All of those suggestions inputs effect how and what we expect of and what we pick. Obama lauds that he made the splendid determination on staying out of Iraq. bill Clinton's "fairy tale" assertion became into shouted down, whilst Clinton emphasised Obama's admission of "i do no longer understand..." Obama recognizes that had he been interior the senate, study what they study, heard what they heard... had their reviews and attitude; that he does not understand if he nevertheless might have damaging the conflict. So even what comments you study rely.

It depends on their age. Anyone over the age of 18 has to be stupid. Naivety can only last until the age of majority.
