I was aghast to read a media report of a 27-year-old Muslim woman and mother of two dying in starvation due to abject poverty in India on the same day when the Sensex touched a record 15000. This happened in a State where all politicians are super rich and some are worth unaccounted billions. A politician last week opened up a new facility worth several crores for a billionaire mindless Tamilnadu Evangelist. You may take it an emotional outburst, but I dare to ask a question in common parlance “How can you digest the food you gulp in plenty when your brethren are starving for want of the basic need, the food”. In my life I have experienced the pain of hunger in my youth and I know what it is and when I read my brethren in Northern India eating roots, grass and barks of trees, I go into an emotional trauma. India is a country where most NGOs are luxury-ridden and economic and political abuses are high in its graph. Is there a way out for the land of snake charmers from this jinx?

It really pains.
When you go to the market it is terrible to see the amount of wasted grains, fruits, vegetables etc..
Though common people are generous, the politicians and bureaucrats have gone blind in not making any effort to make both ends meet.
As individuals by being helpful,we can see that it does not happen in our neighbourhood or in front of our eyes.

sick and really unpalatable. so much of money has been generated in the last five years and the income levels of people have really gone up and a lady dies of starvation in TN, the fastest GDP growing state. They have gone capialist, convinced the poor that is the best option and if you talk welfare etc they may shoot you in the head. the rich poor disparity has increased so much and cost of living has gone up, I dont know how a family of four will manage. how are they going to eradicate poverty at this rate. on one side super rich on the other side starvation deaths ? instead of giving importance to rural upliftment they are going metro building and SEZ. Let us hope such incidents dont happen again and media brings more of such incidents into limelight

Starvation Death....Democracy... and ..National Shame!
A woman... a baby... an agriculturist... a soldier... and all die due to various reasons. Please never grandise the sad event. Gandhiji did Hunger Strike... untodeath... many a times. Doctors attended... finally furit juice was given and so many leaders.... Humanists... Environmentalists... did hunger strikes... doctors attended.... finally fruit juice. what is the use.?. This world is full of human beings... no one is living alone... all are having a beating heart... some or other will come for help and save the life. Inspite of that if some one wants to die... so many instances of suicide cases.. whom you blame! whom to say "Shame". To get Democracy itself so many gave life. Learn to live like birds, animals, ants and bees... who save them.... Live man Live... If anybody is dying infront of you try your best to save. Slogans won't help and the media which reports things these days make big fuss of everything. Farmer commits suicide... CM says he resigns.
People become 'Bombs' to kill innocents. One Muslim mother cries saying "My son is innocent". Prime Minister says 'He could not sleep thinking about crying mother". The entire Nation is put into shame due to few disguised terrorists ... black spots to the country... Nation's Shame.
Let those want to die ... let them die... but let them not kill innocents... Oh .. God ... to that heaven of freedom Let my country awake.... before it is too late.

Surely it is a shameful incident for all of us, lest we could do something to save these people from this kind of mishaps. I feel myself guilty I could not save this life. I am ashamed of myself but I am helpless. May God give us vision to recoganise these unfortunate people and grant us ability to help them in need. I have gone through this starvation myself too in my life and I know what real starvation is. May God forgive our sins and help us to help the poor.

No doubt in terming it the "NATIONAL SHAME" - it must be our so called political leaders who should hide there faces in shame - I agree with the questioner in total specially his emotional outlook towards such incidences. Its really a shame for those who occupy the seat of power.
