lol means laughing out loud a lot.
I'm pretty good at gibberish and translating it.
The reason they do that is because they're lazy IMer's (people who use instant messenger to text speak) and seem to think they don't have to type any other way.
I'd hate to be the teacher who gets their papers that they hand in. If they wrote like that then I'd give them all an "F".

I usually respond very rudely...telling them to stop worrying about whatever the question was, and concentrate on learning to COMMUNICATE!!!
