Well, you need good eyeliner and good brushes. Especially if you want to do a thin line and have it stay.

The best way to do a thin line without using liquid liner (which is difficult to apply) is to get a good, thin, angled eyeliner brush and a gel eyeliner. To really do it right, you will also need a powder liner and another brush. Try these products:

The gel liner is perfect for a thin line, it goes on very smooth and even and doesn't drip like liquid. Use the flat edge brush to make a thin line against your lash line and then use the small, pointy brush to go over it with powder liner.

The brush will allow you to make a thin, perfect line without struggling and the powder over the gel will make it last. If you want a little cats eye at the outside corner of your eye, use something with a straight edge like a credit card. Hold it up and use it as a guide, like a ruler on paper. Just do a little flick with the brush at the outside corner of each eye and the guide will help you to make both eyes match.

Experiment and have fun. If you really have trouble making a fine line in one stroke, use the brush to make tiny little horozontal strokes - sort of fill in a line that way. It's easier.

there are sooo many good ones out there.
sephora has probably the best eyeliners you can find in there.
you should use liquid for the topline/lash.
and you should use pencil for the bottom-lowline/lash.
i use benefits liquidliner and urbandecay 24/7 glide on liner.
works like magic and stays on, and if it comes off (im sure it wont come off completely, no eyeliner is perfect) just have a on the go small compact mirror and reapply, simple as that.

You need a personal consultant. Go to marykay.com, put in your zip code and find a consultant close to you. She will come to your home or you go to hers if you prefer and she can show you how to apply all of your own makeup and will give you enough samples for a few days to decide whether or not you like the product.

Eyeliner always came off me until I switched to the Mary Kay brand. This stuff is awesome and inexpensive.

I use this eyeliner by MAC called 'Fluidline'. It's more pricey than usual, and you do have to buy a brush with it, but it's totally worth it. It stays on all day long, and the brush is small, so it's easy to make a thin line. Hope I could help :)

try a liquid eyeliner, pencil wears off too fast. As far as not making it look fat, try to go as close to the lash line as possible.
