I've seen an attractive girl be called ugly by a guy when she hurt him by turning him down. Sometimes guys will insult a girl to make themselves feel better.

She may be attractive on the outside, but she may be the rudest or inwardly unattractive person that guy has ever come in contact with.
Just because someone is pretty doesn't mean she's a good person. Seems to be quite the opposite most of the time.
Not everyone has the same idea of beauty as you anyways. Some guys like skinny girls, some like athletic ones, others like curvy girls, some like a bit of extra weight, some people have fat fetishes, some people hate blondes, love redheads, like big eyes or big noses or lips...could dislike short people or really tall people, may prefer a certain style or type of fashion.

What Ash said. I've called several physically attractive girls ugly, purely because their personalities were just that.. ugly. Some were so rude, cruel to others, or just generally ignorant and stupid that it completely destroyed any outward attractiveness they had.
Plus, it's kinda fun to take the shallow, vain, princess-types down a few notches when they really, really deserve it.

well, i had that situation a few times...
you see, our definition of beauty is different. maybe i see something about the gal that is nice but my friend doesn't like...
For example, im dating a girl that is unique in clothing (i wont bother to explain that) and some people just cant stand it...

umm i've never seen that, more often it's a pretty girl who's really insecure and shy, and thinks she's ugly, and the guy is trying to convince her she's beautiful.
