To start with, I love the rain. Yes, the sound of rain on a tin roof is soothing. Haven't heard that sound in years. Thanks for reminding of that.

YES! My aunt has a tin roof and I love the sound of the rain when it hits her roof. She got a tin roof partly for that very reason. She loves the sound as well.

I find it deafening! We have a sunroom with a metal roof and it sounds like very loud popcorn when it rains!
