what's up with manny? only 11 homers so far this season? last time this year he must have had around 20-21 homers. Why such a power drop.

Is he going to get to 500 this year?

ortiz has sore hamstrings i think. Not sure what happened with Manny, I heard he did something different with his offseason workouts, like sell his own batting cage that threw sliders, maybe that's it. Idk, maybe soemthing with his timing. Still a good hitter, the power isn't really there though

I think Manny will come out strong in the second half...If Ortiz goes into a slump or gets injured, then I think I'd be worried...I'm worried about the pitching rotation after Beckett and Dice K...Schilling looks awesome at times, and then he looks old at times...and I dunno what to make of Tavarez...He's up and down...and I'm not sure Wakefield should be a starter...He is way too inconsistent...I just hope they can hold it together enough to win the division, and not let the Yankees back in...

I think even more surprising than the home runs is the fact that he only has 45 RBI. This is a guy who consistently drives in 110-140 every year and he's only on pace for 89 this year. But he's still a great hitter, he's just had a bad first half. I'm sure he'll be much better after the break.

Also he is getting up there in age, he turned 35 this year and has never really had a below average year so the law of averages say he was bound to have one eventually.

Is that what is said about Manny when he's slumping? It's "Manny being Manny?" When he's on pace to hit 20 RBI lower than his worst RBI performance in over a decade, that's not "Manny being Manny", that's either a sign he wants out of Boston, or a serious struggle.

I am a little concerned with Manny too..His average is still ok and he keeps getting hits but not much power this year. Hopefully both he and Big Papi will get their power swings going soon!
I hope he hits his 500th this year. At the pace he is on now, he wont, but he may pick it up!

Manny will be fine. . . . .he'll end up with at least 30 HR's and 100 RBI.

He is very streaky. He's either real real hot or just regular. His hot streak will come.

Yeah I don't know what his problem is, but I have him on both fantasy teams and even traded for him. He better get his act together.

Manny has said he wants to be a Yankee. By slumping, he is just trying to fit in to the Bronx Bombers.
