That is not a joke question.

I currently do Medical Transcription and am looking for a new career change and I cannot obtain medical licenses because of my felon status and so I cannot work in the medical field.

Sure you can. If you can find a lawyer that will hire you.

You may want to check your state's requirements. Some states only barr you for a period of time, like here in Indiana, you can't work in the medical field for 5 years after a conviction but after that the barr is lifted.

I doubt if a law firm would hire you.
They can't take the risk of a felon working in their office, with access to client and firm records.

They have to many clients and cannot compromise the integrity of their clients matters, with a felon employee.

Try Legal Aid, they will probably give you a job.
Try the ACLU.

I would contact the National Federation for Paralegals to find out what your chances are for employment and what you can do regarding the conviction.

I've included a link below to state by state regulations as well as one to the homepage for NFPA.
