Well, that one's really up to you. As long as he's a sociopath W/OUT violent tendencies, then sure, go for it if you like, as long as you're sure you can handle being treated badly once in a while.

I would ask you one question: Do you allow him to get away with treating you like crap, or do you let him know that this is completely unacceptable?

You can. But if you want to leave your friendship slowly drift apart find something different that the sociopath doesn't like and you'll start to go farther and farther apart

I wouldn't.

Steve is right, though: These folks are fun to hang out with, if you can stand the abuse.

Besides, by hanging with a sociopath, you can always reassure yourself about how normal you are.

i have dealt with sociopath and the only advice i can give you is to run for the hills as fast as you can and do not look back. sociopaths are dangerous people. you never know when they are going to turn against you for no reason. i've seen it happen to many times. as long as you are with them you are in imminent danger.

if you ever have encountered a true sociopath, you already know that they do not have friends in the sense that you and i have friends. They know people but do not care, or even consider, the other persons viewpoint, feelings or well being. it is like saying "im friends with this shoebox, its a good friend, it really cares about my happiness"
so......no. its not worth it

I'm sure there are plenty of potential/real friends you could hang out with. Why subject yourself to that kind of abuse? The chronic lying, the "suck them until they're dry" attitude, and the utter lack of remorse surely repels ME-- in fact, the thought of it turns my stomach. I'd head for the hills ASAP, and wouldn't tell this sociopath where I went. Good riddance to bad trash.

Some of my best friends are sociopaths! It's great fun if you can stand the drama...and, besides, as you are probably his only friend, he certainly will be attentive.
