Intel Quad Core or AMD Quad Core?

Which of the two quad core processors should a gamer buy along with his 8800GTX?

A gamer shouldn't really be buying either, unless he just has a ton of money to spend. Since almost all games are not multi-threaded, having a quad core is rather pointless. Now of the two, go with Intel right now, since the only quad core AMD has out now is the Quad FX, which is actually two dual core chips on one motherboard, and it is vastly overpriced.

I have an intel quad based system and an amd quad based system in my shop, the intel box runs a hell of a lot cooler which translates into a longer life span.
