My car was in a small accident a few weeks ago and I can't get it into the shop for another 3 weeks. The problem now is; whenever I lock my doors (thus turning the alarm on) the alarm goes off every 20 mins or so. I need a way to lock the doors without turning the alarm on. Is this possible on a 2003 BMW 530i? I had been just unlocking the sriver side door by pushing the button once, this turned the alarm off, but some1 broke into my car the other day and took a lot of valuables.

First of all, where was the vehicle hit? 9 times out of ten "false" activation of the alarm on your vehicle is caused by a malfunctioning hood switch. Do all your doors latch completely? There are quite a few variables associated with an accident that could cause an alarm malfunction. What was changed by the accident? Feel free to get back to me.

You can lock your car without arming your alarm simply by just using your key manually at the driver's door keyhole. Don't touch the remote. At least this worked for the 3-series.

Another way is to simply remove the fuse to your alarm system.

I'm not sure how this would prevent someone from breaking into your car though.

Steal your car. That usually turns the alarm off. if you are the car owner, rip the tweeter out and let it blink as much as it wants. Seriously... I had a 1989 Nissan 240SX that i found out how to trigger its "alarm' it blinked the hazards 25 times and wouldnt let the car start. If you disconnected the battery before you turned the key and then put the battery back on with the key IN the ignition but not TURNING it, it would do this.

You did not mention the damaged area.I can guide with many possibilities.

I believe that either the hood, doors or trunk switch is displaced. it could be petrol tank door too.lastly your doors.
If sun roof is there, check that switch too.
please lash all this switches in closed position.close all doors,
Now reset your alarm system by locking and unlocking with your remote system.
you will succeed unless there is electrical shorting near to the accident area.
Pls check out.
