This is a great question! In fact, I have a best friend whom I had not seen in about 5 years. We would talk on the phone constantly and email each other, but since I live south and she lives west, our time to 'see' each other was limited. One year, I went west to visit her and this is when I discovered just how different we had become and how far we had grown apart. I still love her as a very good friend, but I have no desire to 'visit her ever again. Isn't that sad? We have grown apart in what we enjoy doing, places we like to go. Because we are older, our temperments are very different, social lives are different, I have a boyfriend, and she doesn't and much of our conversation was strained - and more about the 'past'. I have known her since I was 17 and now we are well into our 50's.

not at first. it feels weird becase you dont know what to talk about, and people can change very easily...
i usually dont keep i contact with my friends over the summer that much, which can sometimes be good, but other times its weird because everyone acts like there was no summer break when you come back from school. this year i had myspace, and that helped alot...even if u dont HANG OUT with someone, you still get to talk to them
