Go for it!!! The fresh air will do him and you the world of good.
Just so long as he can lie flat its no problem! The carry things are great too.

My girls are now 20 and 15, so I have to think back.... I think as long as your baby is healthy, no breathing problems, normal birthweight, etc. , you should be able to take a walk. Not sure where you live....just make the child is dressed comfortably. Dressed as you would dress yourself for comfort. ( I had a friend who dressed her tiny newborn in a snowsuit on a 90 degree day in July!, pretty stupid, I must say!) Anyway, go slow, make sure the baby stays put and make sure nothing hinders his/her breathing. Put the hood up on the stroller if you have one.....Have fun and good luck and most of all, enjoy that little blessing. They really do grow VERY QUICKLY. Trust me, people used to tell me the same thing and I just kind of shirked it off. Appreciate everyday and make the most of it and take lots of pics and videos! You dont want to forget any of it. Including this first walk.
I disagree with the answer after mine completely!!! The babies immune system is better than yours or mine! Take the baby out, people do it everyday! Life shouldnt come to a complete halt because you have a newborn! Look at the humans that live outside, they survive!

Babies are more resilent than you think to the little bumps in the sidewalk.....your biggest concern is that he/she not get too hot or cold while you are out. The air is actually good for them but you need to take a bottle of water and make sure you have the sunshield on the stroller...babies dehydrate fast and their body temp can increase quickly causing big health problems. Try 15 minute walk with a sunsheid and a bottle of water. Make sure you offer the water before and after the walk and if he/she is looking red faced or has signs of sweating or overheating stop your walk and go home ...give water and cool her/him off with a cool (not cold) bath.

I can definitely understand your concerns with having a newborn and going out in public. Some people will say not to go out because the baby might be exposed if someone coughs or sneezes, etc. The flipside to that, is that its being exposed to public places that helps a baby build immunities to illnesses (of course you wouldnt want to let someone with the flu hold him, but exposure to "normal" places and situations is actually good for newborns!). As far as how to transport the baby....most baby carriers are not safe to put newborns in. Definitely check for weight or size restrictions. A better option for a newborn is a sling (theyve become really popular so are easy to find). The stroller would be fine also provided its secure for a newborn. As far as worrying about being bumped around, as long as he is secure so hes not sliding around in the stroller, it will be fine even on a bumpy road. Just be sure to keep a sun shield over him and that hes dressed for the weather. Alot of people with newborns overdress the baby in the summer. Theres also no need to swaddle him up in a blanket if its hot where you are at, unless its just a thin cotton blanket, not for warmth but more for the secure feeling alot of babies enjoy.
Go out and have a nice walk with your baby, it will be good for both of you! :)

Its never to early I took my baby out when he was a few days old. You can't hurt him like that. A little fresh and sun shine is good for everyone I know that my son liked the body carrier if I put it in the front then he would feel all cuddled up and most of the time would sleep and sleep better then if I but him in his crib. Just dont stay out in the sun for to long because they can burn fast so make sure the child wears a hat at least.

They're not as fragile as you think, but it's always better to err on the side of caution. However, can I reassure you that, feleing much more confident with my second daughter and having to go places because of my first, little one was taken out practically from birth, in the carrier and the stroller. Go for it, and enjoy it - I used to love the carrier - she's just too heavy now! Your son will love the motion of walking along so close to you - just like when he was inside :-)

Sweetie babies wont break as easily as it seems they would. It will not hurt your baby to go out in the world. as long as it is not too hot and if it is sunny be sure to use infant sunscreen and try to keep him out of too much sun. I have been taking my daughter on walks since she was 8 days old I found it to be a very good bonding time for me and her plus a little fresh air has never hurt anyone. But this could without a doubt be a great binding time for the two of you. go and enjoy your heaven sent gift from god. Give that baby as much love as possible. Best wishes

Hi, just give your baby some more time to setlle down! In this first month(newborn) period baby is liable to catch infections very easily since their immunity is still not up to the mark. After the first one month is over then you can certainly take him out for a short stroll in a stroller and wrapped in comfortable clothes. Don't go to crowded places and don't let strangers touch or kiss the baby!

I have 12 nieces and nephews and all my bothers and sisters take em out on a walk no matter what age in a stroller. Just make sure they're securely strapped in for safety.

Nothing like that would happen as long as you have VERY good head support, the only problem may be the baby getting to hot. Try not to take him out on a hot day, if you do dress it in short clothes, you can always make it warmer with a blanket.
Head support!

I would use a strap on carrier just because it'll keep the baby close to you. I took my daughter out for walks all the time when she was a baby and no harm was done.
