See, to the far-right wackos, that makes him even better! (check your first two answers)

The truth is, the Republicans have the sorriest slate of candidates ever, and that's why Fred Thompson is looking so good. They don't even know anything about him--they just can't stand the guys who are already running.

And if you ever wondered, as I have, where that stubborn 25% of the country that still supports Bush resides, why it's right here on YA!

[Edit] I "checked your facts" for you. This is from The Boston Globe:

The day before Senate Watergate Committee minority counsel Fred Thompson made the inquiry that launched him into the national spotlight -- asking an aide to President Nixon whether there was a White House taping system -- he telephoned Nixon's lawyer.

Thompson tipped off the White House that the committee knew about the taping system and would be making the information public. In his all-but-forgotten Watergate memoir, "At That Point in Time," Thompson said he acted with "no authority" in divulging the committee's knowledge of the tapes, which provided the evidence that led to Nixon's resignation. It was one of many Thompson leaks to the Nixon team, according to a former investigator for Democrats on the committee, Scott Armstrong , who remains upset at Thompson's actions.

"Thompson was a mole for the White House," Armstrong said in an interview. "Fred was working hammer and tong to defeat the investigation of finding out what happened to authorize Watergate and find out what the role of the president was."

Fred Thompson did not "aid Nixon on Watergate." That is a gross departure from the facts. Not that the media ever really cares much about facts...

Thompson was a prosecutor. He gave some discovery to the other side. Did he abuse his discretion? Only one who knows other than Thompson is dead.

It's how stuff gets done. Read the US Constitution.

He didn't do such a swell job with Nixon did he? Nixon still resigned. I would rather raise money in defense of the witch hunt that Libby was subject to than give to the Clinton Defense fund that they needed to pay for all of the stuff they were guilty of.

Yet another lib reads a headline and thinks he knows the whole story. Yes, Thompson is a fine candidate. Now go have someone read the news article to you. Take notes, it'll help with that short-term memory loss thing.

The best! Nixon needed a defense just like Billy, and Libby should have never been tried for something Armitage (a Clinton appointee) did.

Fred Thompson helped bring down Nixon over Watergate ... check your facts ...

why are you asking this question? Fred Thompson is not running and I can't believe the media and normal people keep on focusing on people that have either said their not running or never said they are running instead of people that are running but not as popular, such candiates like Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo, Jim Gilmore, Mike Huckabee.
