Since is tells you its x squared then you know that the first part of the brackets is x.
(x+ ) (x+ )
Both of the numbers will be positive. To find the other 2 numbers you have to find the 2 integers that will add to give 3 but multiply to give 2. This only leaves 1+2. The result would be
(x+1) (x+2)
P.s. the numbers can go in either order but i always seem to put the smaller number first.

Think:
What 2 numbers when multiplied gives 2, what 2 numbers added is 3. The only solution is 1 and 2.
(x+1)(x+2)

This is an easy one. As long as the coefficient of the x^2 term is one, you can find factors if they exist. There are two criteria: Their product is the constant term, and their sum is the coefficient of the x-term. Applying those criterion here, 2x1=2 and 2+1=3. So x+2 and x+1 are factors.

By inspection, the factors are (x+1)(x+2). You look for two numbers whose product is 2, and whose sum is 3. Obviously, 1 and 2 qualify. If you can't easily see two such numbers, it is always possible to equate the expression to zero, solve the quadratic by the usual formula, and if the resulting roots are R1 and R2, the factors are (x-R1)(x-R2). This works even if the roots are complex, although in that case it is customary to say that the expression is prime (it has no real factors).
