well were doing an indie show for brockton and we need fog but fog machines are to loud so i was wondering about dry ice fog how long will the fog last and what if i ad food coloring to the liquid or ice will the fog change and does the fog rise or stay closer to the ground ?????

no.one cannot co;or the dry ice.

try it in open space to avoid suffocation.it will stay on surface for a while.here it is used in wedding receptions.

the coloured light idea seems brilliant.

try inscenting with dammer.it creates pleasant smell ,clear away bugs,will last long too.which is used in curches and all.

I agree that one cannot color the dry ice fog. However, dry ice fog is in regular use at the American Ballet Theater, which dances at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. In "Swan Lake" and "Giselle," the lights go down, the fog rolls out, and the swans or the willis enter.

How about lighting the fog with colored lights?

Adding food coloring to the dry ice will not change its color. It will stay close to the ground but it will not stay too long. The biggest concern when using this is that the "fog" from dry ice is carbon dioxide. If you have too much of this especially in an enclosed area you could suffocate. Because of this I would not use it.
