I think it's cool to be kind, too. It's gotten too hard to shock anyone anymore because we have all become so jaded, but sometimes the most "shocking" thing to do is a totally unexpected act of kindness towards a total stranger. I love to see the look on their faces (a lot of times it's skeptical, tho) when you pay for their order, or even let them ahead of you in a line.

I always do my best to be courteous to cashiers, waitresses or anyone in a service industry, even if they screw up. Their job is hard enough, and besides, why tempt a waitress on the edge to stab you in the head with a steak knife! Just kiddin'. Anyone who has worked these types of jobs understands how trying they can be, being a little grateful and kind is easy to do and it may make their workday just a tad less stressful.

Yesterday, I was leaving the Dr.'s office and this little elderly lady was coming up the steps and I held the door till she made it up there. I try to always be tolerant, polite, and
gentlemanly guess I got it from my father. Lighting a ladies cigarette, opening doors, ect. ect. Yeah, there is still a few of us left! P&L Peace and love if ya did'nt know.......................

I do those things all the time, just because it feels really good to do some little random act of kindness for someone who is totally not expecting it.

Today I held a door at the market for an old lady, and she said Thank You. It felt good to hear it! :-)
