i've been in a "police action", been on "peacekeeping missions", on "train and advise" missions, on "invasions" and "expulsions", and in each one there were people who were actively trying to kill me and my buddies, but no, never in a "war".

Not personally,I guess...but I was a Navy wife during the Persian Gulf "conflict"....
I think military spouses should be recognized every bit as much as the ones who get deployed. It's a tough time.
