Drive a screw into the dent and pull it out. Then fix the screw hole with Bondo.

You don't take it to a mechanic, you find a collision repair shop that does good work, then have it repaired by a man who has a talent for this work. Yeah, you can fix dents yourself, but what you will end up with, is a half assed job that will look bad.,so if you're gonna have a car that looks bad, you might as well leave it dented.

Get a how-to book at the local book store, there are a lot of different hints there dependint on the location, severity, etc. They really do help with a project like yours. Good Luck!
