I think ya should always tell the truth. But if its goin' to hurt someone and you are truly avoiding the truth for that reason.
You can tell the basic truth and just leave out the hurtful parts
guess that might be acceptable. So long as you aren't just trying to CYA, then NO there also! Have a Great Day sweetie!

Truth wears many faces.
There is a big difference between
truth and honesty.
It takes a life time to truely know the difference.
And often in our quest for understanding
the ones we love the most get hurt
more than anyone else.
A hard lesson in life, but one we all face.

yes but the little white lies are for not telling someone the truth to keep from hurting them. honesty is best in most cases.

Those little white lies come in handy when it comes to not hurting someone's feelings. Complete honesty can be very brutal and damaging.

i think little white lies are better than the truth sometimes...i think they can spare someones feelings or make them feel better about a situation that sounds worse than what it is.....honesty is good but we are only human and cant be honest all the time

Some things are better left unsaid. If asked specifically though--always come clean. Omitting some things can protect you or another person in some cases. It can also bite you in the @ss!

I believe in honesty. That way one does not have to remember all the lies one has told, seemingly to sound honest.

Not if it will hurt someone about something they cannot change.White lies are ONLY appropriate in those situations. Otherwise, yes. I don't see any point to try to communicate with someone if they don't share honest thoughts and feelings. And I don't trust anyone who NEVER says anything negative about me or to me.
