Have a birthday cake, some music, and some games.
Buy a bunch of disposable cameras, and put them out, so people can take pictures. When you develop them after the party, you'll get to see the event from a whole bunch of different angles (as different people take pictures throughout the event).
Buy the cheap gold "bling" from like party city and whatnot, and have games where you can earn bling as prizes...

do a 20's black n gold theme. we did is at my high school for a prom and it was great. every one eather wears black n gold or does a 20's style.

i'd assume you're looking for ideas....
one would be black and gold kinda aren't that great together
maybe:
black and white
white and gold
something along those lines, but i like that you wanna have a color scheme.

like a gothic thing or somethig? i think black white and red will be more interesting........with lots of roses that´ll be cute, a large carpet....o just to a princess thing...i mean like a castell and all that stuff
