I have a cat and just got a small dog. Can I use Frontline for cats on my small dog who is 17 lbs?

At 17 pounds, he's too big for a cat-sized dose. Dogs under 10 pounds get a cat-sized dose.

You can use cat Frontline on cats, but not dog Frontline on cats -- it contains chemicals that are toxic to cats.

Yes, the Frontline in the cat tube is exactly the same strength as that in the dog tube, only the amount differs. It won't hurt a bit, and Frontline is very effective and extremely safe as it does not get absorbed into the bloodstream of the pet. Advantage is also an excellent product and equally as safe. Do NOT use the K9 ADVANTIX on cats!

I don't think the feline Frontline will hurt your dog, but I'm not sure it would be as effective either.

i would say yes. because most cats dont get bigger than that. if you do i would just make sure to watch the first time you use it and make sure there is no allergic reactions. of course you can always call your vet to make sure.

Call a vets office and ask. I wouldn't do it, so it wouldn't hurt your dog.
