Can someone please explain to me WHY...?

Question

at a pizza place, people order SANDWICHES, and at a sandwhich place, people order PIZZA???

See, I work 2 food service jobs right now over the summer. (No..it's not my career choice, I'm a college student trying to make some money over the summer..so yeah, I DO have a brain) But...I work for a deli during the day, that has sanwiches, soups, salads, and...pizza.
At night, I work for a large, well known pizza restaurant. We serve pizza, pasta, hot wings, and...sandwiches.

So...can someone please tell me why...when we are EXTREMELY busy, at both places..people will come to the deli and order pizza, and people will call or go to the pizza place and order sandwiches???

VARIETY! I agree it is a crazy thing to order the opposite of the speciality food of the restaurant, but I am a good example of such craziness. I do not like seafood, but my family and
friends do. I get lots of looks at seafood places, especially if on a summer vacation, and I order a hamburger or ask if they have chicken or steak. I also catch alot of complaints from my family and friends when I do this and they try to insist I try something, but why take a chance and waste my money or taste theirs and risk hating seafood even more and risk getting sick? usually the 2 go hand in hand for example subway does not just offer subs they now offer pizza but you are right customers should really read the menu board like at wg grinders someone ordered a pizza and the cook was like i can make you a pizza sub maybe that could be it too when you are at the deli and they say pizza they maybe asking for a pizza sub and at the pizza joint if they want a sandwich they could be asking for the philly steak and cheese pizza i will take one of your veggie lovers with extra cheese and veggies please dang now i am hungry i am going to pizza hut for dinner i will go in and not have them deliver thanks for the input take care and MAKE THOSE PIZZAS

Pizza hut has the best pizza and wings though. I wont order on a friday night though cause the guy who works there hates it on a friday night and I dont want to upset him.

I have to call somewhere else. To bad though---im a great tipper.

Maybe they're with someone who wants the other thing or one place is right next to another place where they have to do an errand. And the best reason of all is because the items are on the menu.

People are so stupid honestly. I worked at Quizno's and people always thought we had pizza all the time...and fries.....they don't look at the huge neon menu behind us and see what we have...it also bothered me that they thought it was like SUbway and think that we weren't going to toast the sub and then they were mad when it went through the oven..honestly...

Well thats a choice the patron made. Maybe they like that store and eat there food only. Thats what great about america dude...choice and the right to get what you want where you want!!

It makes no sense to me, just as Long John's selling chicken, PorFavor!! Who wants to eat chicken at a seafood place? Not me not ever, don't touch the stuff.....
