Yes in New Orleans, The Keys in Florida, and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, there are cities of the dead.

Found in areas without deep water tables. New Orleans and Key West have such sites. All over Florida and Louisiana, in fact. Makes for a beautiful cemetery since the coffins are elevated, usually encased in stone or cement. Looks like a housing project for the dead.

Some of my family is from New Orleans and I live in Louisiana; the point is New Orleans holds some grave yards above ground.

I know New Orleans does that. I am unsure what your question actually is. There are mausoleums in practically every cemetary you can go to. They just aren't as prevalent.

There are many of them in Italy; they're 7-8 storey concrete buildings .

Welcome to New Orleans. The water table was such that if you dug down you hit water. Therefore everyone was buried in the crypts above ground.

^I'm not sure what you want to know, but they are called Mausoleums, there are mausoleums all over the world. New Orleans are known for theirs. Please see the sites below for pictures.
