256mb is more than enough for the games you mentioned but in future you have to look for 512mb so it would be better to install at one time 512mb

Really, the amount of onboard video memory is not the only deciding factor in what card you should get.

There are 256mb cards out there that smoke 512mb cards in newer games. Simply because the new architecture makes them much more efficient than the previous versions.

Here is a link to a site that has a great chart for comparing video cards:

if your running resolutions at 1600x1200 or under you should be fine with 256mb card it your running higher than that get 512mb if you need a good card to run it the 7600gs should run those games easily on max and you can find it online at websites like newegg for $65 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130075

The more MB's the better, but also take into consideration the number of pixel pipelines, ddr2 or ddr3--ddr3 is faster than ddr2 or ddr1. Get as many MBs as you can comfortably afford.

512mb the more graphical memory the better, try go for an nvidia 7600 at least or the ATI equivalent.
