I don't think it's immoral. It may cause raised eyebrows and most likely they won't have the support of certain friends and family, but love is love. It has tremendous power over predujices and hate. And everybody has someone (usually from long, long past) who slept with family and so down the line we all have related DNA. Who cares. Life's too short. Love, live, and be happy.

Whether something is immoral is really up to how each individual doing an act feels. If you believe it is immoral then by all means, don't do it. However, if you don't have any issues with doing something then it is perfectly OK as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. However, if you are considering marrying a first cousin it would be wise to have a thorough genetic testing done if you are considering children. You want to be sure you aren't passing on any defective genes to your offspring that you both may carry. This is the main reason for laws against cousin marriages.

Rooney you're out of line....it may not be any of his business but just because he feels it's wrong doesn't make him a bad friend. My friends and I disagree on hot button issues all the time but we're still friends...and for the record there's a big difference between judging someone and holding them accountable. It's so easy to say "don't judge me" these days because people simply don't want to own up to what they've done. If anyone says anything about it, they're always quick to say "God is my only judge." or the ever famous "You don't know me." But holding someone accountable is a different ball game. Calling someone out on something you disagree with is perfectly fine and anyone who can't appreciate a friend being completey honest with them, regardless of the subject matter or the delivery of the disagreement, is a bad friend themselves. Don't get me wrong, tact needs to be used in these situations. Don't condemn anyone to hell (God DOES make the call on that one...), don't call them immoral and don't pass judgement on them. But by the same token, never be affraid to hold someone accountable for something you feel is wrong.
Personally I'd feel a little creepy about marrying a cousin. They ARE related. The Catholic Church doesn't condone it so neither do I. But just because someone commits an immoral act, doesn't mean the person commiting the act is immoral. There's a difference...

Yes, it is immoral. You have the same grandparents and some of the same genes. There would be a good chance that their children would have a variety of problems.

Some states allow it, some don't.
Mine does, but only if they are over child-bearing age or sterilized.
