5x^2+5x-30

factor out a 5 to make factoring easier for you.

5 [ x^2 + x - 6 ]
What 2 factors of (-6) can give you a difference that equals 1? (1 is the coefficient of the middle term {x} )
(I like -2 and 3.)

5x^2+5x-30 = 5(x-2)(x+3)

You can check by working backwards.
Multiply (x-2)(x+3) then multiply this answer by 5.

(x-2)
(x+3)
-------------
x^2 - 2x + 3x - 6

= [ x^2 + x - 6 ] when you combine like terms.

5*[ x^2 + x - 6 ] = 5x^2 + 5x - 30

= 5.(x² + x - 6)
= 5.(x + 3).(x - 2)

first pull out the common factor (5)

now you have 5*(x^2+x-6)
factor the inside (x+_)(x-_)
(x+3)(x-2) works

your answer is 5*(x+3)*(x-2)
