Only the liberal part of the Government.You see,the liberals are very vocal about accusing the right of oppressing the American people.But I was once told that a thief is usually the first to cry out thief.Why would they want us to not be armed.Look at the past dictator's,Hitler,Stalin,both oppressed their people,and what one thing did they have in common? They made sure the average citizen did not own a gun,and for good reason.They knew if they were armed they would be overthrown as soon as they took power.Now what is the left trying to do? they want to disarm us.Why? Its the first step to achieve absolute power and total control.Look at South America.Most of those governments are hardcore leftists.Does anybody want this country to be like South America.

Some legislators would like to eliminate guns. Some would not. There are others who would like to find a middle ground between a person's right to own a gun and societies protection from idiots. So I would not agree that "government" is trying to make guns disappear.

The fact that bills are being considered doesn't mean a lot. Thousands of bills are proposed and debated that never become law.

BTW, I'm in the third group. One of the things I would like to see is more accountability.

basically you just realized that your in America and should get out because firearms are actually the second thing that they are doing in the way to N(new)W(world)O(order).

the first is the (currently)'voluntary' tagging "for our protection", but once the firearms are officially gone they will be mandatory.

i suppose this is kind of a prequel, but the war on terror helped put the entire middle east in civil war, meaning that it would be easy to conquer, and with Europe's backing china will fall in line, which would just leaved russia and theirs so unorganized it would take weeks to beat `em.

Totally support the second amendment.

However if the reason is to keep the government from controlling us all, two thoughts:

1. They'll always have you out-gunned.
2. If it was hard righties that took over the government and they want to take weapons away from anyone with lefty leanings, would you accept that?

If the Dem's get the presidency maybe. It will be the beginning of the end if we lose our rights to own guns to defend ourselves.

If the government takes away your ability to defend yourself, then the government must assume all liability for any criminal act perpetrated against you.
In Chicago you can't carry a gun, a knife, pepper spray, mace or taser type high voltage defensive device.
You are defenseless, yet gun crime among other crimes against individuals are way high.
Honest people that carry ANY self-defense device are in violation of the LAW.
The City of Chicago MUST be liable for violent crimes against persons because they refuse to let you defend yourself.
A NEW law is needed if the trend is not reversed.

more than likely they are. they wouldn't want us to enforce our rights to bear arms and revolt against them. We are the masters and the government is the slave but they are duping us into switching roles like fools. some of us realize this is happening and they are afraid of the masses. like the ant movie even though there were far more ants than the grasshoppers, the ants were afraid. it only took one voice to convince the rest of the ants that they were stronger than the grasshoppers and to fight back . all along the grasshoppers knew they were outnumbered by the ants but the dumbed them down into indentured servitude. we the people are waking up to the governments antics and they are afraid. the only way to dupe, dumb us down, prevent our revolt is to take away our rights.
