Richness in what sense ? Wealth. Agricultural Land. Industries. Culture. Heritage. Music. Dance.......... What ?
There are so many things that go into making a place what it is.
I feel both the North and the South have their share of riches. If the North boasts of a Kalpana Chawala the South has Narayan Moorthy.
The North has the Taj the South has Mahaballipuram.
The North has Banarasi's - the South has Kanjeewaram's.
The North has the most fertile land in Punjab and Haryana - The South has Spices, Cashews, Coconut.
Khatak and Bhangra have competition from Bharatnatyam and Kathakalli.
Mughalai and Tandoori dishes share the table with Chettinad and Hyderabadi food at most hotels.
I can continue in the richness of both the regions. Both contribute to what India is. The divide is only in our minds and attitudes.
Both regions build the Indian Economy. It will then be unfair to say which region is richer.

Very Good question. North India has more people and the most rich people. South India is more consistant. Poverty is much less and I think on an average South Indian average home income will be definately higher than north india. But there are more richer people in North India.

If I`m a patriot, i`ll just say "divide me into two... But not India"..

But to answer to your question, though there are lots of Crorepathis in North India, the percapita Income of South Indians is higher. It is the highest in Keralites who are spread all over the world.

In case if you want to divide India into 2 equal half's with almost equal resources and income, draw a line from Kashmir to Kanyakumari...

I do not know how one can think of dividing, first of all???

India's strength is "Unity in Diversity", Multi-lingual and Heritage Culture.

Please dont think on division and dont demolish the hard-earned freedom and morale of our freedom fighters.

Please respect if other state person comes to your state.. This is not only for Indians even for foreigners... This will boost your economy as well as your culture...
