first, my mom went and deleted some cookies,
and now i don't have a homepage on my internet explorer
(it was myspace) and now i can't edit&save my group on
myspace. i'm wondering if that has to do with what my
mom did because it keeps saying something about cookies:
#GetResourceText('#ResourceFile#','ErrorMessage','#CountryCookieData#'

i'm also getting tons of pop-ups and warnings about anit-spyware on my computer. so far all of them say somethings wrong with my computer and i have to buy a certain anti-spyware to fix it. is it a real problem, or a scan? and if is a real problem, how do i fix it with having to spend 40 bucks?

Myspace works with cookies stored on your computer. So, if it won't work now, it's obviously because she deleted the cookies needed in order for the site to work. I don't know if anyone can help you with that but I'm sure eventually they'll come back and it'll be fine.... Also, myspace always has a problem, so it could be a glitch that not many people are dealing with. Contacrt them to make sure.

Get an anti-spyware program. Go to downloads.com and look for one there. It should be okay once you get that done.

DO NOT click on any pop-ups that say your compuer is infected. They are usually links to a nasty piece of software called malware. This will do lots of harm to your computer. It sounds like you may already have picked something up. Try downloading AVG anti spyware and running it. It should identify and remiove most malware and spyware. It's also worth investing in a good anti-virus programme like mcafee. I know it costs, but it's cheaper than getting someone to repair a damaged PC.

goto: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and run through all these updates to plug all the security holes.

make sure your antivirus is up to date.

If you don't have antivirus installed on your system, goto: http://free.grisoft.com and install that anti-Virus program.

then install: http://www.microsoft.com/defender

then install: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html

run through that, then install: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007-Free/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5

these are all free programs.

Do this, and it will take care of the pop-ups. The mySpace issue, she prob. put on a block in your computer to the site which is blocking you from going there.

I'd reccomend these 2, run each in turn
ADAWARE fro www.lavasoftusa.com (Free personal version)
also SPYBOT S&D from www.spybot.org (Again free for home use)

Also worth having in toolbox is CCLEANER from www.ccleaner.com again a free download, and a good general windows tidyup utility.
