Ok sO I'm working on getting a tampon in but it's not working. I found the hole, but it won't go in very far. When it does go in just a little, it feels weird, then stops. Now I think it might be because I'm nervous, because I'm so nervous I'm shaking. It just won't go in though. I've tried to put it in twice and have wasted several tampons. The tampon applicator seems too big, since it is considerably bigger than the tampon itself. Help?

I've tried standing with my foot on the toilet but couldn't find the hole, I've tried sitting on the toilet with one foot up but it just seems like it won't go in. Like I'm too small or something

try relaxing more. breath in and out a few times. try Playtex® Gentle Glide® tampons they slide inside better. also make sure to get the smallest size at first or at least till you get used to them. as far inserting it you have to push it all the way till the ring at the end is close to the "hole" (follow directions in the booklet). and good luck!!!
P.S. try getting some info here too : http://www.playtexproductsinc.com/femcare/Myths.asp

Ok, first of all make you sure you have a small tampon. I coulnd't use a super of regular for a long time. They make ones for teens. Make sure it is a plastic applicator also. If you have never had one in or had sex, you are very tight and it can be really hard. The best way for me the first time was both legs on the ground and knees slightly bent. If it goes a little ways and then stops, you probably don't have it angled quite right. Do not angle is straight up. Once you have it in the right direction, it should slide all the way in. The first time you take it out it might hurt quite a bit because it expanded inside of you. After a few times it won't hurt anymore. Good luck!

the length inside ur vaginal area may be very short.....shorter than the length of the tampon itself...so that may be ur problem. but most likely, its because ur nervous and shaking. im 13 and dont wear tampons....i tried them the other day, and for the first time i got them all the way in...i had a plastic applicator. and my VERY first time, i cried cuz it hurt pulling it out, but what it was...it seemed like i was putting it in, but then afterwards, it wouldnt go farther, so i would push the little button thingon the applicator puhsing the tampon in...but it wasnt in far enough...now just the other day, after months from my first time, the other day i finally got it...and what i think it was, was that i wasnt putting the tampon in at an angle. try aiming for ur lower back...this happened to me to. it seemed like the applicator would just stop, but then i would have to start angling and thenit would start going again...so maybe try that. if that doesnt work, and u have trouble finding the hole, something may be wrong with ur hymen....there are different problems with peoples hymen, uhm, there are some called like imperrforate hymen, i dont think i spelled that right, sometimes the hymen is completely covering the hole, sometimes its not completely covering it, but it does somewhat...u have to go to a gyn to figure out whats wrong if all else fails.

good luck

You are probably trying to insert it straight up. The vagina is slanted so you need to insert it up at a angle toward the small of your back. Locate your vagina enterance with your FINGERS and then place the tampon there and gently insert it toward the small of you back. Once the applicator is in to where the two parts of the applicator meet then launch the tampon. If you are that nervous take some time to relax and breathe deep and calm down and use a hand mirror so you can see what you are trying to do.

Ok well this isnt going to work unless you RELAX.

Take a deep breathe...

You just gotta relax...

Ok now sit on the toilet like you would if you were using the bathroom. If your relaxed then the tampon should slide in pretty easily... if your not relaxed then the muscles will clamp up and you wont get anywhere! Follow the directions on the box and you should be set to go!

you need to relax first of all.
ive heard people lay down and have their feet up in the air while they do it but ive never done it that way.
it's best if your just sitting on the toilet,or squating or just have one foot up on the toilet.
open your vagina with one hand and put in the tampon tip with the other. aiming towards ure back push the applicator.
the tampon should go in if your doing it right with no pain.

Breathe. Try angling it towards your lower back (not straight up). You might also want to consider starting with a slender or teen size until you get used to putting them in.
