There are black pens... there are blue pens... but why not brown? I'm really pondering this question.... please help.

There have always been brown pens. Until recently, there hasn't been brown ink. The first inks were blue and black because those colors were practical with available chemicals. Brown ink would have lower contrast with brown paper or parchment, especially as it aged. Red and green became popular because they provide contrast, not only with white paper, but also in comparison to black and blue inks. Brown offers no such advantages. Brown is also associated with some less-than-pleasant substances.

That's a good question. But they do have brown gel pens!!!!

they have brown gell pens....but prolly b/c brown is a nasty color
