Because they still need a "crazy" conservative to run. You know a pro-life, anti-gay, usually racist, hates the middle-low class kind of guy. Lovely, isn't it?! I guess they feel the candidates they have are too liberal.

I suppose because most of the republican candidates are pretty weak candidates who leave something to be desired.
Personally I dont see a candidate from any party so far that has officially anounced they are in that really excites me much.

I would be pleased if Thompson gets into the race, SOON! Many of us are simply biding our time.

Yes, I've read the same about the Dems. There appear to be many who are pressing for Gore to get into the race.
