People always tell me not to grow up so fast. I'm 14 years old. I don't know if I want to grow up yet. I believe you're either an adult or a child...and I can't decide which one I am. So many things are going on, and right now I'm just trying to get through it all alive. And when I was 12 I had a hard year as well, to the point of attempting suicide. How can I stay a kid a little longer?

You should not be rushed into growing up. You are a teenager and you cannot possibly think like an adult because your mind is still developing. I am sure you are acting your age. I know there is alot of pressure on you but just take it one day at a time and you will get there. Don't put so much pressure on yourself and don't be so hard on yourself either. Just be who you are one day at a time and it will be okay. Maybe you can talk to someone like a school counselor or maybe a family member who would understand and help you through this. GOOD LUCK!!! - You will be okay.

You're 14, you're not a kid anymore. You're a teenager and you should be growing. It doesn't mean you have to start doing stuff you're not comfortable with, but just ease into being your age. I had a hard time when I was 12 too with some of the stuff you mentioned, but I'm 15 now and I am a teenager! Just own it!

Enjoy yourself and try not to dwell on growing up. Worrying about things never helps. It only makes thing seem unreasonably hard. They are never has hard as we imagine them to be. Have fun while you are still young. Just because you turn 18 does not mean your life is over. The best years of your life are yet to come. I am 51 years old and I have always thought through each stage of my life that it couldn't get any better. But you know what? It does. It really does.

People always told me the same thing when I was about 9-13, when I got to middle school I made a lot of great friends who made me so much weirder and childish, almost. I'm really outgoing now, but I also act grown up when the situation calls for it. I also think about the future constantly, so I don't act like a five year old or anything. Trust me, you'll be fine.

Slow down. Don't start dating yet, wait a few more years. And find a good church with a youth program, so you can make new friends your own age. That will help. Also, don't hang around kids who do things like smoking and drinking, drugs, sex, and other stuff like that.

Play. As long as you play you will stay young. Your games will change as you get older, but never stop playing. Enjoy laughter, enjoy being spontaneous. Like the song says, dance as if no one was watching. Never get so caught up in life that you forget to live. That's my advice, I'm still playing at 55.
