2y-6=2(x+2)
2y=6+2x+4=2x+10
y=x+5
slope is 1
y=mx+c form c=5 m=1

Get the equation into the following form (solve for y):

y = mx + b

m = slope
b = y-intercept

From here you can easily obtain your slope.

2y - 6 = 2x + 2
2y = 2x + 8
y = 1x + 4
slope is 1

oh yea its 1, my bad
didnt see the 2 in front of the y
2y/2x = 1

that is slope-point formula
(x1, y1) are any points on the line
m is slope
y-y1=m(x-x1)

1
-----------
Reason:
Neglecting the constant terms, you have
2y = 2x
y = x
Therefore, the slope is 1.
