Choose the Monte Carlo of the group. The NYNY has funny little windows. The Flamingo was just re-modeled, but still has some old units. The Luxor is nice, but some of the pyramid rooms a "weird".

I would rank them exactly as listed...

Flamingo is a great place, especially if you have never been to Vegas. The location is top notch, right across from Caesars and an easy walk to Bellagio, Venetian and a bunch more. It has a very nice pool area, decent rooms and a large casino. It is also often the cheapest of the 4 places. The biggest downside is the restaurant selection isnt great but you can always walk next door!

Luxor is also a nice hotel with good room, a large pool and more to do than Flamingo. Also a better selection of restaurants including a great steakhouse. It is also directly connected to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur so you could skip going outside for days. Its main drawback is location as it is near the south end of the strip so other than MB and Excal, everthing else is a decent walk.

NYNY is similar to Luxor except the pool is not very good though the location is better a little further up the strip.

Lastly, Monte Carlo isn't a bad hotel, there just isnt much there to recommend it. The rooms are decent and the restaurants are good but there is nothing special about. On top of that, there is massive construction going on next door and it lost its parking garage so there probably will be a bit of noise around. It does have a good pool area with a lazy river and wave pool which is probably the 2nd best of the 4 you listed.

I hope this helps and have a great trip!

They are all nice four star hotels. The Flamingo is the only one of the four in the center strip so that should be a consideration. It is almost the most expensive of the four listed.

NYNY does not have much of a pool area. The Luxor has a large pool area but I found it was a concrete jungle with not much beauty surrounding it. The Monte Carlo has a good pool with plenty of trees and nice lounge chairs. The Flamingo has the best pool of the four with a natural bird sanctuary surrounding it and plenty of lush greenery. So if pool and location are important and you have the money, then the Flamingo is a sure bet.

They are building right beside Monte Carlo at the moment and they work 24/7 so that may be a factor in your decision making. Otherwise, I would recommend the Monte. It is slightly more central than Luxor and NYNY and sometimes has great bargains. It also has one of the most underrated buffets in Vegas.

All four are great hotels. Have a great time.

The best budget hotel that is dead center of the strip is Bills Gambling Hall and Hotel. The rooms are nice and clean and you can walk everywhere easily from this hotel. About $40 a night. Avoid the "north" strip hotels such as Stratosphere, Sahara, Stratosphere, Circus Circus and the Riviera. They are just too far of a walk and the area is pretty bad. For a girls trip these are a definite no. Also the Flamingo and Harrahs are in the center and they are on the cheaper side. The center of the strip is the best place to stay with the liveliest area. Also avoid Imperial Palace at all costs. This hotel is disgusting and everything is covered with a greasy coat. Also the elevators take over 30 minutes everytime you want to use them. Any other questions let me know.

I stayed at the Luxor and I LOVED it. The 45-degree elevators were fun and every thing was close. I walked through New York New York and I rode the roller coaster that is on the outside and in my opinion either of those two are great because they are on the strip, the themes are really fun, and the escalators connect you to everything.

The Flamingo is horrible. I stayed there recently and it was a nightmare. Our room wasn't even ready until after 6pm. The bathroom has sliding glass doors. In our suite, one of them was stuck and wouldn't open or shut all the way and the other one completely shattered when my friend opened it, cutting my friend's hand and leaving our entryway covered in glass. The hotel manager didn't even come up for an hour after we called to report it. Then they downgraded us to a regular room and tried to make up for it by letting us eat at their buffet for free, but it made us feel sick (don't eat there).

I haven't stayed at those other hotels before, but I'm sure they are better than the Flamingo!

I'm an MGM Grand fan but of the ones you mentioned, I would choose Luxor. Visit all their sites though to "look around" a little at each place. Most sites even have a tour of the rooms so you can see which ones you like. Have a great time.

Visit www.tripadvisor.com, it lists all vegas hotels and rates them by what the people think, there are thousands of reviews, and pictures and honest opinions.

Personally, I prefer the Bellagio

I don't care for any of those places. I prefer The Mirage, less children. Just depends on how much you want to spend.
