It is a bit of both I think. Sri Lanka just has some good bowlers in the short forms that aren't as effective or do not play full stop in the longer forms. Australia has a lot of good bowlers in test cricket mainly in the pace department, but in limited overs many of those good test bowlers don't bowl the balls in the right areas often enough in the shorter formats. A lot of the losses Australia has had this season can be blamed on the pathetic excuse for selectors Australia has who keep up this annoying rotation policy. It does not allow any consistancy to be gained and short form cricket, where you only have 10 or 4 overs to get it right, doesn't allow you to have half a dozen poor or inaccurate overs to get your way in to a bowling innings.

I wouldn't agree.
I watched Sri Lanka play England in the 2006 series and they were anything but second class. A varied and unorthadox bowling attack (including the best spinner in the world) coupled to a clutch of shot-making batsmen.
Bangladesh on the other hand are just a really weak test team - occasional flashes of batting prowess but not enough to win over five days, apart from the odd fluke result.

Nope, totally disagree.
Sri Lanka's Test record is pretty decent and they are always competitive in every game. Bangladesh are still a long way behind everyone else and get rolled over in all their matches.
Sangakkara? Muralitharan ? Malinga ? All world-class players who would walk into any other Test side in the world, including Australia.

Sri Lanka have just hammered Bangladesh twice in test matches, by an innings and plenty both times. Bangladesh will make it into the big time one day, but as yet they don't have the experience or class.

I think it is an unfair statement to term Sri Lanka as a second class team in test cricket as they are in 6th position as far as winning percentage is concerned in the test playing countries.
By the winning percentage of 43.75 they are ahead of India, New Zeland, Zimbawe and Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka is the second best cricket team in the world and they proved it in the last world cup.
A fool like you can't understand that should not watch cricket.In latest test rankings they are the fifth.
