I've answered many people's questions about the elite four on this website for various games. What has confused me is that many people say you need your Pokemon to be on as high a level as the elite four's highest level Pokemon, if not higher. I want to know why people say this because i can almost always beat the elite four with my Pokemon being at least 10 levels lower than their highest level Pokemon.

thats the same with me you can have pokemon 10 to 15 levels lower than the elite fours strongest pokemon but if you have whats super affective against that trainers type its very very easy to beat them

*nods* Yeah...it makes sense to train your Pokemon to their levels, but then most people say that so that it won't be as much of a hassle trying to beat them with Pokemon whose levels are 10 levels lower.

Of course the more strategic approach would have been to face against them using their weaknesses (which is what I suspect you did; I did the same thing), having both a high level and a type advantage is always good, too.

Well that depends on which types of pokemon you have. I'd say you beat the pokemon league so much because you know the types of the pokemon and you can beat them with their weaknesses. That is a very good strategy indeed.

Its easier to battle them with pokemon of the same lvl or higher but i've beaten them with lv.30 and lv.40 pokemon, it just depends on type and stratagy.

i say lev 50+ because it is always easier than using lev 40's and under. Most of the time you have to keep using revives or potions. Thats why i think 50+ is the best levs to go to the E4
it makes it so much easier
