just get the pal pad to enter FC's or when you get to jubilife city you can trade using GTS(global trade system)

Beat the first gym then go tho the Global trade station in Jubilife City.

i say you have to go to wi-fi setup and you can setup from there. then it will wirelessly hook up to your computer
