Has your sex life changed since you have had it do you enjoy sex just as much ? do you have to do anything differant ? do you have to take hormone shots ? how old were you when you had yours ? I am 23 and the doctor told me in order to fix the uteran problem i am having that is basically my only option or live with the pain but right now me and my husband can't even have sex due to the pain but I am scared to have a hystorectomy cause i am so young and I might want more children though I already have 3 . My problem is that my uterus won't stay in place so it hangs low and it is tilted . Anyone else have this exact same problem . By the way this is my only problem no growths no endometrosis or anything just my uterus hanging low .

Hi. I had a hysterectomy at age 32 due to cancer. I, like you, had three children. I had hormone replacement therapy (oral).

Mine was done vaginally and was easy to recover from.

I welcomed mine because it rid me of cancer.

I didn't have to worry any more about birth control so it made sex more exciting and pleasurable for me.

You could ask your Doctor if a Hysterectomy is the only option for you. I have heard of a procedure where they insert/attach a "sling" that holds the uterus higher and in place..

I'm sorry you are having to face this at such a young age. Best of Luck & hope I may have helped you.

I would definitely get another opinion before having a hysterectomy at your age. There may be other options to reposition your uterus so it doesn't cause more problems. If you do have a hysterectomy you can request that they leave your ovaries, then you should have no problems with needing to take hormone replacement.

I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago because of fibroids. I also had my ovaries removed because of the risk of ovarian cancer (cancer runs in my family). My doctor told me I would need estrogen therapy but stopped because it gave me a constant headache. I was very lucky because I have had almost no hot flashes or night sweats.
