Basically, the only way out if you really want to download the the songs and music is to first download it and then scan it with your antivirus before opening it. Also, yea use common sense when you download something, like the guy above me said, a different files have a certain size. BTW, who cares if limewire is legal or illegal to download off songs! Everyone does it over a half a million of americans do it! The chances of being caught it slim to none b/c the authorities won't waste a dime on someone who doesn't download much!

limewire is a file sharing site and the downloads you get are sorced from other pc's who are sharing the file you download. So the possibility of virus or spyware or tracking cookies is high. If you must download, make sure your antivirus is running and updated regularly. before opening the download you should scan the file again. Also instal a antispyware program and antiroot kit besides your usual antivirus program.

Yes, anything you download off Limewire can possibly be a virus.
The file or files could also possibly have Malware or Spyware also.
Make sure u have good security programs running when downloading off LimeWire.

If downloading is bad, it is and it is illegal. but to answer your question, once you have downloaded a files, scan it before opening. according to limewire, if a file is less than !MB in size, it's probably a virus. but just the same, keep your AV program running and update it everyday.

if the host you are downlaoding from has a virus....yes, but if you have anti virus you will get a pop up warning like this " file is corrupt" in this case cancel it and try another host
